MAT Exam 2023 Latest Update:  All India Management Association (AIMA) AIMA has released the MAT 2023 February sessions on the official website. The MAT PBT registration will be open till February 14, 2023. The registration for CBT exams for the February session is ongoing in online mode till February 21, 2023. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for MAT CBT 2 exam till February 27, 2023.

MAT PBT exam for the February session will be conducted on February 19, 2023. TheCBT 1 and CBT 2 MAT exams will be conducted onFebruary 26 and March 4, 2023. While applying for Management Aptitude Test, MAT 2023, candidates need to pay the required exam fee.  MAT application fee for all candidates is Rs 1900/. Those who want to appear for more than one mode will have to pay an extra fee of Rs. 1150 per mode. 

MAT 2023:  According to the MAT exam 2023 dates, the MAT exam for the February cycle will be held in multiple modes and over several days. Candidates would have the option to choose to appear in more than one mode of test. Candidates can download MAT 2023 admit card at the official website of AIMA, using their MAT registration number and roll number.

What is the MAT exam?

Management Aptitude Test ( MAT) is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA). MAT is held four times a year. The MAT score is accepted by around 600 B-schools across India for admission to their MBA and PGDM programs. This management entrance test is conducted in February, May, September, and December. Registration for the MAT February session has started.

Candidates who want to apply should meet the MAT exam 2023 eligibility criteria. Check the eligibility criteria before filling MAT February session application form. Apply for the entrance exam by paying the requisite fee and submitting all necessary documents before the closing time. 

MAT exam 2023 is normally conducted in three modes - 

1) Paper-Based Test (PBT) 

2) Computer-Based Test (CBT)

3) Internet-Based Test (IBT)  

As per the exam pattern of MAT 2023, the exam includes multiple-choice questions only. Around 20,000 candidates appear for every session in the MAT exam.

MAT 2023 Result

AIMA will release the MAT result 2023 for the February session in online mode around the third week of March 2023. Candidates can download the MAT scorecard on the official website -mat.aima.in. All test takers need to enter their registration number and roll number to check and download the MAT result 2023 for the February session from the official website. AIMA does not send any copy of the result to the candidates through email or post. MAT score is valid for one year.

More than 600 B-schools across India accept MAT scores for their admission process. Candidates are shortlisted first on the basis of their MAT score and called for the selection procedure – Writing test, GD, and PI. The selection rounds may differ from institute to institute.

How to check MAT 2023 Result:

  • Go to the official website of AIMA.
  • Search and click on the “MAT results” button.
  • Choose the session of the test.
  • Enter your registration number and form number.
  • View the MAT scorecard by clicking on the submit button.
  • The result will appear on the desktop/mobile/ laptop screen.

How to check MAT results through SMS:

The step-by-step process to check the MAT result through SMS is provided as under:

  • Type "MAT" on the text message
  • Followed type Application Number and Date of Birth (Ex - "MAT XXXXXX and XX/XX/XX).
  • Finally, send it to 54242.
  • You will receive your result through SMS later.

MAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

AIMA has prescribed the MAT 2023 eligibility criteria for the candidates who are going to appear for the MAT examination. The MAT eligibility criteria 2023  is the same for IBT modes. MAT eligibility criteria comprise the academic qualifications, age limit, and nationality which the candidates must check before they start filling out the application form.

  • To apply for the examination, as per the MAT eligibility criteria 2023, a candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized institute or university.
  • Even final-year graduation students from any stream can apply for the exam. AIMA hasn’t mentioned any age limit for the exam.
  • Interestingly, one can appear for the exam as many times as he/she wants.
  • There is no specific age limit for MAT 2023.

All India Management Association (AIMA) commenced the MAT exam registration for PBT/CBT/CBT 2 mode for the February session in online mode. MAT Eligibility Criteria 2023: All India Management Association (AIMA) has specified a set of academic and other requirements as MAT 2023 eligibility criteria for February session. Candidates must fulfill MAT eligibility criteria 2023 in order to appear for the MAT PBT, CBT and CBT 2 exams which will be held on February 19, February 26 and March 4, 2023 respectively. The minimum qualification for appearing in the MAT exam is graduation in any discipline with 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PwD) from any recognized University.

MAT Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Overview

MAT eligibility criteria 2023 consists of academic qualification, upper age limit, category reservation, relaxation, etc. It must be noted that there is no upper age limit to appear for MAT 2023. The detailed MAT eligibility criteria in terms of academic qualification, age limit, and work experience are given below:

Academic Qualification

  • Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized Institute or University.

  • Candidates appearing in the final year examination or awaiting results for Bachelor's degree are also eligible to appear for MAT 2023 exam.

Minimum Marks in Qualifying Exam

  • Candidates need to have at least 50 percent aggregate or equivalent CGPA in a bachelor's degree.

  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories i.e. SC, ST, and PwD need to have a minimum of 45 percent aggregate or equivalent CGPA in the bachelor's degree final result.

Age Limit

  • There is no upper age limit to apply for the MAT exam. However, the lower age limit is not less than 20 years old which is equivalent to a graduate.

Work Experience

  • Having work experience is not mandatory for MAT, however, it carries extra weightage in the selection process of all top MBA colleges.

Attempt Limit

  • There is no limit on the number of attempts for taking the exam, therefore candidates are eligible to take the exam irrespective of their attempts in previous sessions. The score of the latest attempt will be taken into consideration for admission.

The candidate should note that the All India Management Association (AIMA) has fixed the track for reservation, which is equivalent to last year’s examination. Candidates should get a minimum cut-off score based on which they will be listed and eventually go on to the next round of interviews.

Eligibility Criteria of Participating Institutes through MAT 2023

MAT conducting body AIMA does not specify any reservation or different criteria as per colleges. However various participating institutes have set up their own rules of eligibility criteria through MAT 2023 for admission in the respective institutes. Some of these criteria implied by some colleges are:

  • Minimum 50% to 60% marks in graduation required

  • Some relaxation may be given to professional degree holders

  • Weightage to work experience may be awarded in admission criteria

  • Weightage can be given to women candidates in admission criteria to promote gender diversity

  • Good weightage can be given for excellent academic performance in classes 10 and 12

How to fill out the MAT application form 2023?

MAT 2023 exam registration form should be filled in online mode. Here are the steps to fill out the MAT 2023 application form.

Step 1 - MAT Registration

  • New candidates have to visit the official MAT website mat.aima.in and click on the ‘Registration button’

  • Provide the required details to create a log-in. Candidates must provide a valid email id and password to receive the email ID and mobile number verification

  • After providing the required details, click on the ‘Submit’ button

  • Students will receive the OTP on the registered email id

  • Enter the OTP in the given space and click on the "Verify & Submit" button to create login credentials

  • Applicants will receive a confirmation message for the new login credentials on the registered email id

Step 2 - Log in

  • Registered applicants have to visit the MAT official website, mat.aima.in to fill the AIMA MAT 2023 application form.

  • Click on the ‘Login’ button to log in.

Step 4 - Upload the documents

In this section of MAT registration, applicants will have to upload the required documents. The following documents have to be uploaded in the MAT 2023 registration form according to the specified format and size.

  • Upload Photograph - Candidates must upload a recent passport-size color photograph. The colored photograph should be taken against a light-colored, preferably white background, and avoid harsh shadows. Candidates wearing glasses must ensure that there are no reflections and eyes are clearly seen. Also, ensure that both ears are clearly seen. Hats, caps, and dark glasses are not acceptable in the scanned photograph. Turbans or religious headwear are allowed but should not cover the face. The size of the scanned copy of the photograph be between 10 KB to 50 KB in .jpg/ .jpeg format

  • Upload Signature - The signature should be on white paper with a Black ink pen and scan it. Make sure that only the signature area is scanned and not the entire sheet. The signature would easily appear on the MAT 2023 admit card. The candidature will be canceled if the signature does not match the answer sheet at the time of the exam. The size of the file should not be less than 5 KB and not more than 20 KB and should be in .jpg/ .jpeg format.

Step 5 - Fill in personal details, qualifications & experiences, and choices for Management Institutes (MIs)

  • Provide the required details in the MAT 2023 application form for the February cycle. Candidates must correctly furnish all their personal details and qualification details as they will be screened for eligibility based on the information furnished by them.

  • Candidates opting for double IBT mode can avail of the benefit of selecting additional 2 Management Institutes (MIs) for sending their MAT scores in addition to the existing option of selecting 5 MIs

  • While filling out the form for MAT registration 2023, candidates need to save the entered information by clicking on the "Save" button.

  • Candidates have to re-login by using the same email id, date of birth, and password if they want to edit/ modify any information provided in the MAT 2023 registration form. Candidates must click on the "Save" button after rectifying the details

Step 6 - View/ Download Registration Form

Applicants can view their fully furnished MAT application form 2023 after making payment and can also take a printout of the same for future reference.

Mistakes to avoid while filling out MAT application form 2023

  • Applicants must provide their names according to the official documents.

  • Applicants must check the payment status after paying the fees.

  • Applicants must provide a valid email address and phone number to receive the notification regarding MAT 2023.

  • Applicants must upload the documents in the prescribed size and format.

  • Do not make any mistakes while filling out the MAT 2023 application form as there will be no provision for a correction window.

MAT Selection Procedure 2023 - All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts the Management Aptitude Test (MAT). Post declaration of the MAT result, the participating institutes will begin the MAT 2023 selection procedure. There is no common MAT counselling process for MBA admission. MAT score accepting colleges will have different admission policies to select candidates for admission to their MBA programmes. Admission based on MAT is independent of AIMA, which is conducted separately by the participating colleges.

MAT Selection Procedure 2023

More than 600 B-schools will conduct the MAT 2023 Counselling. Those who qualify in MAT 2023 will be required to apply separately to the participating institutes. However, candidates must note that the selection process for MAT 2023 varies from institute to institute. All the rounds are mentioned below.

  • Written Ability Test (WAT)

  • Group Discussion (GD)

  • Personal Interview (PI)

Some participating institutes will conduct the MAT 2023 selection process in online mode, while some of them will conduct it in offline mode. After the declaration of the merit list, candidates will be informed via email or letter of the institute for which they applied. MAT Counselling 2023

MAT 2023 counselling is the process of selecting candidates through group discussions and personal interviews. MAT counselling 2023 occurs only after MAT results are announced. Following the results, notice will be given for the schedule of MAT counselling. All shortlisted candidates will be summoned for the MAT selection procedure and the document verification process. At MAT counseling, candidates have to go through about 2 to 3 rounds of group discussions, personal interviews, and a few written tests.

MAT Exam Pattern 2023- All India Management Association (AIMA) has released the exam pattern for MAT February 2023 exam.
